100 Voices: Areen Awwad from Nazareth

Meet Areen, an activist of Democratic Women (Tandi). Areen grew up in national political home that pushed her in that direction, but she knows that women and girls in Arab society enjoy freedom only to a certain point.

100 Voices is Social TV’s campaign where Arab citizens of Israel and Palestinians tell about themselves, their opinions and experiences.

Firstly, thanks for reading this article!

The Turban Times is a completely independent magazine, run by bloggers and journalists who believe strongly in the importance of the stories that we publish.

If our readers chipped in occasionally, with what they can afford, we would be able to continue telling important stories from the Middle East and North Africa region – and you would ultimately keep us financially and editorially independent.
